About Me

I am a freelance guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, and drum Instructor. I teach in all styles with a focus on musicality, expression, improvisation, and efficient & healthy technique. I also specialize in mixing, mastering, and producing music and have mixed a variety of genres including rock, jazz, funk, brass, and pop.

I was born and raised in Seattle and began playing the guitar at the age of 12. I fell in love with music and the guitar when I joined my first band a year later. During this time I spent hours everyday working on my playing, learning solos by guitarists like Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. I went on to study music at Seattle Pacific University as a Music Production student while also studying guitar under Greg Fulton. During this time I honed my skills playing jazz, and classical guitar.

During my high school years I began teaching guitar. I am passionate about helping others gain musical knowledge while learning to play their instrument efficiently. When I was 18 I was diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which is a nerve injury that causes pain in the arms, shoulders and hands. This diagnosis taught me to  find healthy and pain free techniques for playing music that I am dedicated to passing on to my students.

To learn more about my teaching techniques and philosophies please check out the About My Studio page as well as read through the students contract.
